I'm the lucky owner of one of the first batch of AUROK J necks, namely the third off the line, such an early build that it's practically a prototype. The neck is a joy to play on, and makes for a bass that I imagined (and hoped) would have a 'Jazz Bass Plus Graphite Shimmer' tone to it. And you know what? It fulfills it's brief perfectly. My instrument was built by an up-and-coming Luthier friend here in the UK, the body being carved from a single piece of walnut and utilizes Fender Pure Vintage Pickups & Gotoh hardware.
It has recently been quoted by forum friends who have played it as,
"They say seeing is believing but feeling is better in this case. It is a marvelous bit of finishing and the bass sounds massive"
& "This walnut and carbon fibre neck bass is in a class of its own. It is genuinely one of the best sounding jazz basses that I have ever heard. There is just something about it. The growl and thump is huge. It sounds like a jazz then with some tweaks to the tone and volume, it gets such a bite on it."
So if you're thinking of ordering an AUROK Composites neck, don't hesitate. Go for it!
